Remember to pick yourself up & get back on your feet!!
Remember to pick yourself up & get back on your feet!!
Baby giraffes never go to a business school. But they learn a very important management lesson early in life. A lesson that all of us would do well to remember.
The birth of a baby giraffe is quite an earth-shaking event. The baby falls from its mother’s womb, some eight
feet above the ground. It shrivels up and lies still, too weak to move. The mother giraffe lovingly lowers her neck to kiss the baby giraffe. And then something incredible happens. She lifts her long leg and kicks the baby giraffe, sending it flying up in the air and tumbling down on the ground.
As the baby lies curled up, the mother kicks the baby again and again. Until the baby giraffe, still trembling and tired, pushes its limbs and for the first time learns to stand on its feet. Happy to see the baby standing on its own feet, the mother giraffe comes over and gives it yet another kick. The baby giraffe falls one more time, but now quickly recovers and stands up.
Mama Giraffe is delighted. She knows that her baby has learnt an important lesson:
Never mind how hard you fall, always remember to pick yourself up and get back on your feet.
Why does the mother giraffe do this? She knows that lions and leopards love giraffe meat. So unless the baby giraffe quickly learns to stand and run with the pack – it will have no chance of survival.
Most of us though are not quite as lucky as baby giraffes. No one teaches us to stand up every time we fall. When we fail, when we are down, we just give up. No one kicks us out of our comfort zone to remind us that to survive and succeed, we need to learn to get back on our feet.
If you study the lives of successful people though, you will see a recurring pattern. Were they always successful in all they did? No.
Did success come to them quick and easy? No, You will find that the common streak running through their lives is their ability to stand up every time they fall. The ability of the baby giraffe!
The road to success is never an easy one. There are several obstacles, and you are bound to fall sooner or later. You will hit a road block, you will taste failure. But success lies in being able to get up every time you fall.
May this story inspire you to come out wiser, stronger & shining from every fall.

Kondgaon Camp !
It was a break through from work for all MITLians to Kondgaon Camp for a night out with team building activities planned for a day.
We started from Pune on 26th Nov-11 at 7am as supposed to which elongated to 8am start - in the one hour we played cricket near to office , later we started along Pune-Mumbai Expressway till Khalapur exit - taking Palli road to Pedle then a short road drive towards Kondgaon Camp through ups & downs of road.
First Day - Welcome drink, team activity - getting Praveen's car from the terrain drop as missed road ans sided downwards on a small bridge hanging with one tyre without a base, we all worked out and took 45 odd minutes for a success. Later reading out safety rules, introduction of all team members and awesome lunch, with little rest - had a raft building team event plus raft drive to Kondgaon dam team wise for an hour.Later evening we had team games, tasty barbeque stuffs handled by rama, booze counter handled by john & mouth watering dinner till 12.
Second Day - Morning started at 6am - trek preparations to Thanala caves with a local guide through forest and wild taking almost 3 hrs to reach caves and return 2 hrs to nearby village. We had breakfast in caves plus frooti and water to avoid dehydration. As the pain is still there all over body. Imagine a path steep, downwards, waterfall crossing, plain terrain ,boulders & rocks - little space to walk and a small slip or miss is feet below hit on the ground - breaking like Humpty Dumpty!
We concluded the second day after trekking with feedback & lunch -legs were not moving at all, any how returned back to pavilion by 6 pm as sleeping all way like half dead.
It was a terrible first time experience of going to a trek with actual big time trekkers.
Cheers to MITL Team !!

Family Trip - Mandwa Beach !
As mentioned in my last blog - needed a break to venture out with a drive - What more to write about the same place visited thrice.
Still will ponder some good points to insure that anyone reading this blog will visit at least once to the venue.
We started our car drive by 7 am on 31st August 2011 and took a breakfast break at Khopoli by 9.15 am, later the complete drive from Khopoli - Pen - Vadkhal - Karlekhind- Kankeshwar Phata - Zirzad -Awas Phate - Mhatre Road - reached "My Farm" by 11.30 am - that's the location to visit & stay/spend time to enjoy sea food( delicious and yummy).
Surprisingly, more to the suspense is that Booze lovers will get their drinks stock near to the beach shack to relish the stay and enjoy the sands.
Jason & Sandra had their thrilling day out on the mud water, shell collection and drawing, playing football, washing feet with beach water, collecting small fish to make it more memorable. Just added some snaps to hang on !!

Fasting Days - 2011.
It was the 40 days fasting period this year from March-April 22nd 2011, a good period to miss the best non-veggie dishes & drinks. Lot of prayers and concentration to God in means of praying together, house blessings & attending church function at times.
Why did i started to pen down few lines - is that missed my special dishes and parties during the Lent season as its been a practice for the last 3 years were earlier used to keep one time fasting for the 40 days, but age is catching up now slowly - so now fasting cannot be done for half day but just a penance to stay fit and fine for the other days of the year.
When attended Good Friday & Easter Mass , felt that God must have taken more pain for us than me to fight for our good lives at that time, can't even think of a day without our favorite food - seems world has changed a lot or we have changed according to time , more priorities for all pleasures given - as its the race running to achieve the best in life and provide the best at any price.
I include myself also in the same rat race, but can't hold back as it takes a lot of potential needed with the power to say no and make a new path to sustain in this era.
Memories of childhood - happy with whats given , be it small or big, size never matters, just that timely help, be it toy, food or affection is taken care.
I envy those days and would like to cherish still.....
